Austin-based real estate development and construction firm Journeyman Group, announced today it will start taking applications to help local families who are suffering financial hardships during the pandemic.

“Our hope with this program is that we can help families who may need immediate assistance to put food on the table and purchase other basic necessities,” said Sam Kumar, Journeyman Group President. “We’re able to make this substantial donation because we’ve been blessed to build new homes for thousands of people in and around Austin. We want to support our community during this really challenging time.”

Up to 2,000 families will each receive a $150 check from Journeyman Group’s $300,000 fund.

“We are confident that brighter times are ahead for the Austin-metro citizens. Once the recipients of these funds are financially able, our hope is they will pay it forward with a donation to our friends at Lifeworks and Foundation Communities, so we may continue as a community to help those in need,” Kumar continued.
