This phase of UTPB’s student housing expansion plan included six new two-story apartment buildings, containing a total of 54 units. Each building contains four units with four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a central living area and small food prep area and one one-bedroom RA unit for a total of 198 beds. Each apartment building includes a laundry facility on the first floor, as well as an elevator. The building consisted of post-tensioned concrete slab on grade with wood framing systems with limestone and brick veneer. The roofing was composite shingle roofing. Durable vinyl plank flooring was installed throughout all units.
Site work included a 8.22 acre jobsite with five parking lots complete with striping and site lighting, drives and approaches, new road tie-in, exterior sidewalks/ADA ramps, substantial landscaping and irrigation, complete with drip irrigation and xeroscaping. Construction occurred on a live and active campus.
